It is very interesting to learn that two of our trainees for electrical and solar installation after completing their one year informa trainings were deleted by TEVETA to upgrade their education to formal and they have now completed and graduated with advanced diplomas
One of the programs of YAF is vocational skills trainings. This has really changed lives of young people as some are able to start their own businesses, some are able to secure employment because of the certificates they received from TEVETA and some are upgrading their education to get advanced diplomas and degrees.
YAF implemented a dragon den project targeting women running small scale businesses. At least 60 women were registered and trained in business skills and life skills. They then developed their own businesses plans which they pitched to the team of independent judges nicknamed dragons. 12 individual businesses and 2 group businesses received topup grants while the rest were signed posted for future opportunities. Pictures shows some of the beneficiaries at their businesses captured during monitoring. It was interesting to see that their businesses were growing and expanding up to the extent that others opened new businesses for their family relatives.
